https://ipm.my/cn/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/2016年公司法的展望.jpg8005662017年初，马来西亚商界被引入了公司治理方面的巨大变化，即2016年公司法（新法案）。新法案于2016年由国会通过，并于2016年9月15日在宪报刊登。但新法案于2017年1月31日才正式生效。新法案取代1965年的公司法（旧法案），该法案自首次被使用以来已有数十年。为新法案的起草过程最初是由马来西亚公司委员会（SSM）于2003年提出，并同时成立公司法改革委员会（CLRC）。此委员会的主要目标是：（一）建立一个能够促进业务的法律和监管结构;（二）根据国际标准，促进对公司董事和成员的问责和保护，并考虑到其他利益相关者的利益。
