Ir. Dr. Goh Hui Hwang is a Registered Energy Manager (REM), a professional electrical engineer, and an ex-Professor, Junwu Scholar, and Assistant Dean (International Collaboration and Affairs) at the School of Electrical Engineering, Guangxi University, China. He was also the former Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Currently, he serves as the Professor and Programme Director of the Postgraduate Programme (Engineering) at the School of Engineering, Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus, Malaysia. His technical interests and areas of expertise include electrical engineering consultancy, power systems, renewable and sustainable energy, grid forming and grid following control, circular economy, smart grid, load shedding, big data, and data mining.

Since 2008, Ir. Goh has dedicated his professional career to the leadership of a variety of research projects, with a primary emphasis on the promotion of innovation, development, and the testing of new technologies that can be employed to address sustainable energy in the developing world. His innovations have made substantial contributions to the advancement and well-being of the community, earning him medals at numerous international invention competitions.

He was previously an active member of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) as an ex-Executive Committee Member of the Southern Branch and an ex-Adviser of the IEM Student Section UTHM, in addition to his academic leadership. Additionally, he served as a Senior Evaluation Panel Member for the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) and Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC) of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). Furthermore, he is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE), the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), and the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET).

He has received the JCI TOYM Award 2014 in the “Academic Leadership and Accomplishment” category and the 2022 Guangxi Golden Silkball Friendship Award in recognition of his exceptional accomplishments as a great leader. This serves as an inspirational example for other Chinese and Malaysian engineers to strive for greater heights of success.
